Key internal infrastructure promotions and integral new role for BRL announced

We are delighted to have made two senior promotions within the BRL Operations team whilst also further strengthening the BRL team with the appointment of a new Operations Director and the creation of two brand-new positions with Head of New Business & Innovation and Head of Estates.
Qiao ZhangQiao Zhang, who has worked at BRL for over four years has been promoted to Head of Infrastructure (Strategic Projects). Qiao has been fundamental in overseeing the delivery of the station and pier and is focused on leading projects that will serve the entire development. Qiao is now focused on managing the delivery of the innovative Main Energy Centre and site-wide Heating System.

Nathan PearceNathan Pearce has been promoted to Head of Infrastructure (Core Projects & Operations). Following the successful delivery of Station Square this month, Nathan is leading on the delivery of all land sale related infrastructure projects and leading on day-to-day site management, including logistics and health and safety.

A key hire for BRL, Jason Wong joins the BRL Executive team as Operations Director, bringing with him over 35 years of Jason Wongexperience achieved in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. His responsibilities range from leading and managing all the construction, commercial costing and technical functions at Barking Riverside, as well as contributing to the strategic planning of all logistics and health and safety.

Paul RobertsPaul Roberts joins the team as Head of New Business & Innovation from a senior position at Transport for London. Paul will be the main contact for all new business opportunities and commercial deals and will be looking to review and update key strategies to ensure projects are allocated the necessary resources.

He comments; “There is already lots to be getting on with, but some of my short-term priorities include supporting the BRL team to get the commercial units around the station activated in conjunction with TfL and creating a public car park near the pier. I will also be looking to provide a steer on the potential uses of the non-residential units currently under construction.”Another significant appointment has been SarahSarah Phillips Phillips as Head of Estates. Sarah also joins BRL from a senior position at Transport for London/Greater London Authority shared services where she led their extensive Estate portfolio. The key remit for Sarah will be working closely with the BRL team to drive our Estate services being delivered by Tandem, our Estate Managers.
