The Circus and Kings Hill hosted its inaugural event at the weekend, and what a way to kick things off.🎬

A huge thank you to the hundreds of residents and visitors who joined us on Saturday for a full day of open-air cinema, food and drinks.

Family favourites filled the afternoon, before an evening screening of Jurassic World: Rebirth. Buzzing with food, drinks and atmosphere, the event was designed to celebrate the new spaces whilst coming together as a community.

We’d also like to thank our food and drink vendors, @thespot.eats, @lattelab2025, Noodle Hub and @theexchange.london, as well as the Barking Riverside Resident Events Panel @barkingriversidevents for providing free popcorn, as well as speaking to residents about their upcoming community events. 🍿

The Circus and Kings Hill are now yours to enjoy - a place to meet friends, spend time outdoors, walk your dog and make use of the new seating and play areas.

📣 Reminder for residents: Footpath 47 diversion route is coming into effect from next week.

As previously shared, essential foreshore works along the river require a temporary diversion to Footpath 47. The new diversion route will come into effect from Tuesday 26th May - starting at Project Road, outside the Project Office. This will involve accessing the foreshore from a new road, rather than entering the foreshore from the Project Office car park.

Diversion signage will be installed over the coming days, with marshals present during the short switch-over period to help guide pedestrians safely along the new route.

These works form part of the wider improvements to the riverfront and are necessary to ensure work can continue safely.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience while these works are carried out. More signage is due to be installed to re-share the designs for the foreshore, and to give further detail on the programme.

1.5 tonnes of clothes recycled in one month ♻️👀

In March alone, Barking Riverside residents donated more than 1,500kg of unwanted clothes and textiles through the neighbourhood’s @traid clothes banks.

That’s the equivalent of 1,512kg diverted from landfill - helping reduce carbon emissions and giving used items a second life.

There are two TRAID clothes banks available at Barking Riverside:
📍 Rivergate Square
📍 Northgate neighbourhood, near The Wilds car park

Whether it’s old clothes, shoes or other textiles, donating is a simple way to reduce waste and support more sustainable fashion. Head to our TRAID banks after your next Spring clear-out 👕
