Development Continues to Progress at Barking Riverside

Our plot developer partners, L&Q and Bellway London Partnerships, continue to bring units forward across Northgate, with more and more buyers making Barking Riverside their home. We are very pleased to announce works are now underway across all land sold in Stage 2 North, and building works are clearly progressing.

At the end of March we completed the sale of the final plot of land in Stage 1. Site H West will deliver 167 new homes, which will be a mixture of houses and flats (48% for London Affordable Rent and 52% for market sale). Planning approvals were granted by Barking and Dagenham Council in February and Bellway is set to undertake the initial earthworks onsite imminently to prepare the land for construction.

We have also recently completed the sale of nearby Site H East to Bellway. Construction has already commenced with piling and ground beams and this plot will deliver a further 107 new homes, 50% of which affordable.

Our team is progressing the sale of Station Quarter to a new development partner. The major new district around the station, Station Quarter, will deliver up to 1,000 new homes and new amenities. We look forward to announcing the partnership in the coming months, and to a long and successful working relationship.

Finally, BRL has completed all ground works for the new temporary Co-op store in the Northgate area. Co-op is currently installing their temporary building with cabins and completing their fit-out, with the store expected to open in June. The temporary convenience store is a much anticipated amenity for residents and an important part of solidifying our long-term partnership with Co-op.
