Barking Riverside's online news
Riverside news goes digital
For the first time ever, Riverside News, a newsletter published 3 times a year by BRL, has gone digital, offering local people the opportunity to stay connected to their community and stay up to date during these difficult times.
The Summer 2020 Riverside News was also the first co-edited issue with Thames Ward Community Project (TWCP). BRL are collaborating with TWCP to transform Riverside News into a resident-led paper, with an editorial board consisting of local people that will produce future issues that will be a voice written for the community by the community.
Focusing on community voices, the latest issue features a collection of stories from TWCP members and other Thames Ward residents. Capturing the spirit of the local area, the local authors have shared their thoughts on what they enjoy about living here and how the community has come together to support those in need throughout the pandemic.
The issue also contains updates on the London Overground station and the announcement of the new Uber Boat by Thames Clippers pier.
