This February 1, to celebrate Chinese New Year, Barking Riverside has partnered with designer and artist Ling Tan, to present the Low Carbon Chinatown Supper Club at The Wilds.
Following a successful pop-up in Soho last year, the dining experience at The Wilds will combine food, data science and community participation to explore different ways for guests to help respond to the Climate Crisis and lower their carbon footprint through food choices.
The Supper Club will combine a short educational workshop with a sit-down meal featuring three mouth watering low carbon dishes, specifically chosen and developed by London’s East and South East Asian communities alongside a data scientist and acclaimed Asian food writers MiMi Aye, Uyen Luu and Shu Han. Guests will immerse themselves into a communal-style meal, sharing the three dishes and two rice sides.
Prior to the sit-down meal, a short 30-minute workshop will be led by Ling Tan and chef Neil, teaching guests about the data science behind the low carbon dishes and offering an opportunity to take part in the making process.
To celebrate this event, all ticket sales from this event will be donated to low carbon and sustainability focused charity, Sustainable Food Trust.
