Teens enjoy making a beat!

Teens living in the Thames View ward are getting the opportunity to work with industry professionals whilst learning to make music, rap and more, using the latest technology on a fully equipped, state of the art music bus.

The Young Urban Arts Foundation (YUAF) are offering free workshops in music production, rap, lyric writing, every Tuesday* evenings from 6-8pm, for teenagers aged 11-15  years.  Over the next five months, YUAF music bus will be at Crossness Road for teens to enjoy.

Matt Carpen, MD of Barking Riverside Limited said, “This is a brilliant facility made available exclusively for teenagers living in the ward, thanks to the L&Q foundation who have funded the project.  We’re also keen for local musicians to get in touch as the project also features a mentoring programme using local people. ”

If you are a local musician who would like to get involved, please email: [email protected]

*The music bus is running every Tuesday, term time only.
