Green transport
There is an extensive network of cycle paths across the development as well Dr Bike, a Cycle Hub sharing scheme that provides a free repair service. There are plans for a 5-mile Cycle Superhighway that will allow cyclists to connect from Ilford to Barking Riverside. Barking and Dagenham Council have also begun work on a greenway that will allow pedestrians and cyclists to get from Barking Riverside to neighbouring Thames View via an off-road route. In addition to cycling, Enterprise Car Club provide shared vehicles for residents and businesses, and more than 20% of the parking spaces at Barking Riverside are fitted with electric vehicle charging points.
