Northgate – Coming Next
A new residential district under construction and a place for Barking Riverside and Thames View residents to connect through the new school and community facilities. The Wilds Ecology Centre will open in 2021, and there will be green landscaping, play parks and walking trails.

With residents and visitors alike commuting through the District Centre to access the facilities and amenities, or to head to the river, arriving here feels special. This commercial zone will evolve to become a destination – a centre point for new community facilities, cultural events and business opportunities.
The Viaduct – Coming Soon
Defined by the raised train track of the Barking Riverside Overground extension and a large parkland area that surrounds it, the area will be a gateway to Barking Riverside. The open archways beneath the raised track will be used by the community for creative projects such as food production, art and recreation.

An expression of Barking’s great industrial past, Kings Wharf has heaps of character thanks to a 600m long wharf and two 1900s switching stations. The area is at the forefront of Barking Riverside’s future outlook, with the legacy buildings becoming a cultural hub for locals and visitors.

With plenty of family homes and located close to the local schools and shops, The Village is an ideal neighbourhood to raise a family. The area also benefits from plenty of green spaces and long views over the River Thames.

Working with architects and locals, this neighbourhood will emerge through the exploration of what the future of housing looks like, with a creative approach to design, use of materials and the involvement of those who will help to embed a new way of living.

The River and Foreshore district connects Barking Riverside residents and visitors to the unrivalled 2km stretch by the River Thames. The jetty by the District Centre will become home to a new leisure and recreation destination.
