FIRST FIREWORKS DISPLAY FOR RESIDENTS

Barking Riverside London held its very first community fireworks display attracting over 600 residents thanks to the support for our proud sponsors the Careys Foundation.

BRL’s 10-minute display was a free event held at the Barking Riverside Project Office on Monday 6th November. The countdown was led by Cllr Darren Rodwell and 30 Cubs, Scouts and Beavers.

Matt Carpen, Project Director of Barking Riverside Ltd said: “It was hugely rewarding to see over 600 residents enjoy BRL’s very first fireworks display.  Hundreds of children came along to enjoy their very first display; seeing their faces light up was priceless.

“This event was made possible by the generous support from the Careys Foundation, we cannot thank them enough! We look forward to hosting the same event for local residents again next year.”

Local Thames View resident, Stevie Prince said, “I brought along the grandkids as they’d never been to a display and it was down the road! The children loved the fireworks, I can’t wait to bring them again next year!”

Hundreds of children/families from Barking Riverside and Thames View enjoyed the event which also included free giveaway glow sticks, music entertainment and hot food/beverages kindly provided by local suppliers.
