The BRL Board comprises of representatives of our shareholders, L&Q and GLA who meet quarterly to oversee the running of the project, approve policies, budgets and make key decisions concerning larger more complex issues.

What does your role involve?

I joined L&Q in 2001 as a Development Manager, moving on to become Head of Regeneration in 2003 and Development Director in 2008. I am currently Managing Director, East Region; responsible for delivering L&Q’s development growth ambition in the East London boroughs. As a committed Urbanist, I am a champion for the cause of high quality public realm and mixing people and ideas to create wealth in our city.

What does your role involve?

I have worked at L&Q for over 20 years and joined the Trust after completing a degree in Housing. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and have led on a number of major regeneration projects across London.

Ed Farnsworth

Director of Business Planning & Development Finance, L&Q

What does your role involve?

I have worked at L&Q for 13 years in various Finance roles and currently hold the role of the Director of Business Planning and Development Finance, reporting to the Group Finance Director. I lead a team of finance professionals, responsible for financial reporting and business partnering on the L&Q Group’s Development and Sales activities; alongside the production of L&Q’s long term financial plan and financial strategy. I have also recently taken on responsibility for leading the Finance function of Gallagher Estates, L&Q’s strategic land business.

James Murray

Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development, GLA

What does your role involve?

I oversee the Mayor’s £4.8bn affordable homes programmes, including Building Council Homes for Londoners. I works with local authorities, housing associations, and developers to identify land and opportunities for new homes, and I advise the Mayor on affordable housing planning policies. I also oversees work at City Hall to improve the private rented sector and to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping.

Executive Director for Housing and Land, GLA

What does your role involve?

I lead the Mayor's housing, land and development functions. I was previously the Executive Director for London at the Homes and Communities Agency and before that I was the GLA Executive Director with responsibility for planning, regeneration, housing and environmental policy.

Neil Hook

Neil Hook

Head of Area (North East London), GLA

What does your role involve?

I lead the North East Area team in the GLA’s Housing and Land directorate. I oversee its affordable homes programme and projects, and maintains the relationships with Registered Provider (RP) partners, the boroughs and other stakeholders. I also manage major projects including Barking Riverside and Blackwall Reach, and a portfolio of RP partners that includes L&Q, One Housing Group and Swan Housing Association.
