By the River is a new summer offering at Barking Riverside, located uniquely on the Thames from mid-July to the end of August 2022.

Open every weekend in August, By the River has a full kitchen serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a selection of hot and cold drinks plus a choice of alcoholic refreshments.

On Fridays and Saturdays there are different workshops or you can just head down, grab a bite and enjoy the atmosphere. There's a large sandpit to keep the kids entertained and lawn games to entertain everyone.

Friday 12pm – 10pm

Saturday 9am - 10pm

Sunday 9am - 6pm

Kitchen closes: 8.30pm (Sunday 4.30pm)

Last drinks orders: 9pm (Sunday 5pm)

Please note that only food and drink purchased from onsite vendors can be consumed on the premises.

We offer premium bespoke catering services and mobile street food pop ups throughout the UK. As an award-winning chef and events planner couple, we combined our expertise to start our own company 6 years ago; Karl is passionate about creating fantastic food experiences and continually strives for perfection in each dish he serves, while Kat oversees the sales, marketing and events side of the business.

 The Dapper Catering Company is proudly community centric with an emphasis on local produce and supporting local suppliers; utilising fresh, sustainably sourced ingredients whenever possible.

Throughout this summer our menu offerings will change on a weekly basis to reflect Karl’s inspiration and the availability of ingredients; you can try something new and exciting every time you visit us!

Event details

Dogs: The event is dog friendly, please remember to bring them some water and make sure that they are taken for regular toilet breaks to avoid accidents on the decking.

Toilets: There are male, female and disabled toilets, plus a baby change.

Parking: We only have a limited amount of disabled parking available.  The EL1 bus stops outside the Barking Riverside project office.  Barking Riverside is also accessible via Uber Boat by Thames Clippers (Barking Riverside Pier) and London Overground (Barking Riverside).
