Building a new community

The first phase at Barking Riverside by L&Q, Parklands, gives buyers the chance to be part of an emerging new community, and purchase a piece of the next London property hotspot.

The vision for Barking Riverside makes this development one of the most forward thinking in Europe. The scheme will integrate amazing new technology, such as Envac, the UK’s largest automated waste system, and the new spaces and places are being designed to support outdoor activity, health and wellbeing, as part of the site’s status as London’s only ‘Healthy New Town’.

Kate Faulkner, one of the UK’s leading independent property experts, said, ‘Where do you ever get a chance to live in London that’s new? It’s such a rarity to be able to do that. You have got a whole new area and you can make your own community, and it will be the people that make it. You can provide the buildings and the park and the beautiful river frontages, but it will be the people that make the community.’

She added, ‘To me it’s evidence that somebody has really put some thought behind how we are going to develop this community, and how we’re going to make it the best that it can be, rather than just do the cheapest, or do it the quickest, which is not always the best way of doing stuff.’

The first launch at Parklands at Barking Riverside comprises 36 Shared Ownership homes and 31 Private Sale homes. Shared Ownership prices start from £62,500 for a 25% share of a one bedroom apartment (Full Market Value £250,000). Private sale prices start from £249,950 for a one-bedroom apartment available through London Help to Buy.

The Sales Suite is open 7 days a week, 10-5pm Monday to Saturday, and 10-4pm Sundays.
