Big Barking Riverside Picnic returns

Barking Riverside and Thames View residents are invited to the second annual Big Barking Riverside Picnic on Saturday 6th July, between 12 noon and 4pm!

The community event marks the return of Barking Riverside’s very own pop-up beach. The grassy riverside adjacent to the project office and the public footpath will be transformed into a sandy beach all summer, allowing little ones to build sandcastles and families to enjoy riverside views throughout the summer (opening times soon to be announced).

Sponsored by Pinnacle Places, the picnic on the 6th will include a host of activities, from Zumba classes and giant games to creative writing and face painting, run by local groups, including Triangoals and Creative Wellness. For the first arrivals, limited edition picnic hampers will be handed out, stocked full of healthy treats. Guests are also welcome to bring their own picnic.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Parking is not available. The EL1 bus stops just outside the Barking Riverside Project Office and runs 24/7.

When:  Saturday 6th July 2019, 12 noon – 4pm.

Where: Along the river next to the Barking Riverside Project Office, Project Road, Barking IG11 0YP.
